About
Welcome to the 12th annual Prairie Pride Film Festival (PPFF)!
On behalf of everyone at the OutNebraska, we are thrilled to welcome you to the 12th Annual Prairie Pride Film Festival!
This year’s festival is all about connection. The LGBTQ+ community thrives on connecting to one another, and having spent most of the past two years apart due to COVID, we are hungry for experiences that remind us we are a part of something bigger than ourselves. Here at PPFF, we believe queer film provides an opportunity to connect in a unique and celebratory way. This year’s program highlights that everyone in our international community has a story to tell, and shows just how meaningful it is when we really listen to, learn from, and spend time with each other.
Throughout the pandemic, we continued to strive to provide a safe space for queer stories to be told and shared. After going virtual two years ago, we were given an incredible opportunity to make sure these stories could be viewed from anywhere in Nebraska. We are delighted to say we have maintained a high standard of accessibility.
Get ready, because we are coming to you with more than 40 films that will be available to watch from your home…or on the go! The LGBTQ+ community here in Nebraska and throughout the world is incredibly diverse, and we wanted to feature as many voices as we possibly could. We are particularly excited to amplify films that center Black, Intersex, and Non-Binary experiences, as these are members of the queer community whose stories are frequently silenced.
Thank you to our Sponsors , as well as the OutNebraska Staff and Board of Directors, and the tireless Screening Committee for making this year’s event possible. Wherever you are in the world, we are so glad you’ve joined us and we simply cannot wait to hear what you think of all the films.
Happy viewing and happy Pride!
With Love, Always;
Ethan J. Wheeler

The Prairie Pride Film Festival (PPFF), is a program from OUTNEBRASKA that delivers independent films featuring LGBTQA issues to a midwestern audience in Lincoln Nebraska. In its 12th year the festival continues the tradition of using art to advocate and starting important conversations in an often conservative community.
OutNebraska is a 501(c)3 non-partisan organization serving LGBTQ+ Nebraskans through advocacy, education, and celebration. We support community building events, provide training, engage the LGBTQ+ community in civic life, and advocate for pro-LGBTQ policies.
